Hi-Lo – Long Beach

As the second design for Hi-Lo, we took the proven brand traits and architectural moves that made their first location a memorable experience and adapted them for their Long Beach location. While their Culver City store offered unique distinction for their façade, in Long Beach we were challenged with a boxy modern exterior, but rewarded with a much larger interior to play with. As the Hi-Lo brand had become known as a welcoming place to discover and learn about new products, we decided to use their latest location as an opportunity to deepen consumer experience through programming.

Implementing a long marble-clad bar counter along one side of the store, Hi-Lo now has a prominent area designed specifically for tastings, promotional events, and educational opportunities. Now more than a specialty shop for craft beers, unique labels, and excellent international liquors, Hi-Lo Long Beach is a place to gather for a lively conversation and friendly tipple among neighbors.
