Moodboard Monday: Ergobaby

ergobaby_1

We were recently approached by Ergobaby to help create a campaign for their new 360 four position carrier. Taking design cues from their nautilus logo and playing with the idea of coming full circle we created a mood board that expressed the campaign concept: The World in All Directions. After the mood was created our first step was to refresh the existing logo for their new carrier.

Because this is Ergobaby’s very first forward-facing carrier, we approached the concepts thoughtfully, taking care to extend Ergobaby’s promises of comfort, safety and parent-child bonding through baby wearing into this new terrain. Our two concepts, Adventure Together and Follow His Lead, blended into variations of one creative execution. We see parent and baby on an adventure, exploring their environment, engaged and in tune with each other and the
visual delights of the world around them.

8500 Art Direction

8500_1

It’s no secret that Caruso Affiliated is one of our best and most loyal clients. We’ve worked with their team for over 7 years and 8500 Burton is one of our very favorite projects.
The building is stunning, innovative and timeless. We designed two marks for the brand that equally contrast and compliment. Have a look at the size of their signage, it’s pretty insane.

The brief was for a new website and lifestyle photography. We cast 3 models, Hanne and Julien Schalk from Two Management and Cristy Ling from Next. Crazy beautiful people— inside and out. We created a very detailed shot list, art directed the wardrobe provided by J. Crew and hired the talented Jennifer Young to shoot. Then, we literally worked from dawn to dusk. Thank you again; a memorable day and an amazing team.
Our website design here.

Front Door Feng Shui

fdfs1

If you google feng shui, you’ll find images that are shockingly harsh. For a practice so thoughtful and sensitive, the visual language of feng shui is in bad need of a rebrand. And these are the non-offensive ones.

fdfs2

One of the first things we redesigned for Liz was the bagua map (BAH-gwa). It’s the very basic tool used in feng shui to learn which parts of a space – such as a home, office building, room or yard – correlate with particular areas of life. Based on the bagua designs we researched, there was nothing basic about it. So we cleaned up the chart design, making it more functional and easier to read. This design set the tone for the entire project. In the end our client wrote us a lovely, hand written note. Nothing like a little positive, feng shui karma.

“Truly grateful to you and your team for all the energy you put into Front Door Feng Shui. I thank you for being an incredibly helpful person in my business. From our first conversation you differentiated Project M Plus from any company I had spoken with. Your level of professionalism, the care and detail you took to understand the FDFS brand was unrivaled and meant so much. And I appreciate you not just telling me yes – but rather guiding me as to what the site should be. You were right! On everything!”

Dwell Home Tour 2014

murnane_dwelltour_1

Fresh off the D-Lab Tour, we, Project M Plus co-owner’s McShane and Cleo Murnane, are thrilled to have our Silver Lake home included on the 2014 Dwell Modern Home Tours.

Project M Plus was born in a tiny garage in Echo Park in 2007, where we worked pretty tirelessly for 4 years to pay our land debt and secure our construction loan. The learning curve was a steep one, our credit scores were in the tank, but sheer determination does pay off. Now 6 years later and valued at double our investment, we designed and built a family home that is literally a dream come true.

Thank you Dwell for selecting our home. Come see us Saturday, June 20th.
Purchase tickets here.

McShane and Cleo will also be speaking at Meet the Architect Night, the kick-off to both Dwell Design Week and the Dwell Modern Home Tours, on Friday, June 13th at the Ace Hotel DTLA. Meet the architects behind the best modern residential design and hear them talk about their challenges, inspirations, and successes in designing and building the homes featured on both the West Side and East Side Home Tours.

Come celebrate with us!

Juby True Shoot

1

Let’s be honest, plants are good for us. We should eat (and drink) more of them. Our client Fox Restaurant Concepts created Juby True so their customers could bring a taste of True Food Kitchen home with them. They squeeze-to-order delightfully inventive juices, smoothies and waters packed with equal parts nutrition and yumminess.
It’s really good juice, that happens to be good for you.
Photographed in the famed Heirloom LA Salon, by the brilliant Bonnie Tang, we styled and art directed an image for each Juby True recipe based on its ingredients.

Marble generously lent to us by Exquisite Surfaces.
