Office Party

This project came to us via some multi-talented folks who needed a flexible space that would serve their many creative interests and ventures. Our principal design challenge was to transform an empty bow truss building to serve three primary functions: an event space,  private offices, and the ability to convert it easily into a photography studio at a moment’s notice.

To define the building’s distinct and multipurpose design requirements, we added a central mezzanine that effectively splits the event space / studio to create a suite of floating offices above, all while still maintaining the open truss. Entirely free-standing, the mezzanine structure was intentionally not connected to the original building to create a “building within a building” that remains connected to the overall energy and flow. With the conference room acting as a powerful focal point, we created an inviting, floating glass box that peers down on all the action below.
